Smrk mountain is located approximately 3.5 km to the South of Ostravice, on the border between the highlands Radhošťská hornatina and Lysohorská hornatina.
Together with Malý Smrk and the marginal peaks (Smrček, Malý Smrček, Skalka, Šance, Samorostlý, Trojačka), Smrk is a part of the known massive formed by layered Godul sandstone. It is accessible by the red tourist path from Ostravice or Horní Čeladná, from where the path leads over the peak. Smrk is the highest mountain in the Radhošťská hornatina highlands. In the direction of Malý Smrk there are monuments to John Lennon and Jan Palach.
